2020 Milestones in the Synowicki Home
A couple posts ago I wrote down some things that I was grateful for throughout the crazy year that 2020 was. Today I just wanted to be short and sweet as we head into the new year and give you guys a little insight into how our year went as a family and what big things happened and what changes we went through in 2020. Hope you enjoy! We moved! We moved! In may we signed paperwork, got our keys and became homeowners of our first house! We weren’t planning on moving as soon as we did, but the market was great at the time and we found a house that fit exactly what we’re looking for right at our price range! We are so pumped to make this home ours, raise our kiddos here, and make some great memories. Can’t wait to share our home journey and changes we may make to our house along the way with you guys!

2. My husband’s job changed!
This was an exciting one for us all, and the hubs was def the most excited out of all us! He moved from being the attorney who overlooked and handled all child support cases within Lancaster county to being a civil attorney (dealing with lawsuits against the county, working with his bosses more, being in court more often and working alongside our police force/sheriffs. This was something we had continuously prayed about, and wanted so badly for him. He is amazing at what he does and the sky’s the limit for this guy and his future! This was something he was looking forward to doing and we are so blessed things worked out exactly how they were meant to. We are so proud of our guy and can’t wait to see all that he does!
3. Harrison turning one!
We had made it, right?! All of those sleepless nights, teaching him new things, finding out things he loves, trips we got to take him on, watching him grow and become best friends with his sissy. It just gives you all the feels! Having a boy changed the dynamic of me as mom in ways I didn’t even think about. It’s been a wild journey becoming a boy mama, and I’m so glad Harrison was brought into our lives to teach us new things and make us even better parents.
4. First big road trips!
I was fortunate enough to take my two littles on road trips during the summer of 2020. One was with both kiddos to Colorado to visit my best friends and meet their new baby girl! We stayed for a whole week and as long, crazy, and exhausting as the drive was with two littles it was the most amazing week! I’m so glad my kids got to experience everything we did in Colorado. It was worth it to see my daughter light up each time we talk about that trip. And the second road trip was just my boys and I, and we got to spend a magical little weekend with my other best friends at their new home in salt lake city, Utah! It was short and sweet, and we always wished we had more time there with them, so def in the future I see us returning! Maybe fly next time tho haha
5. We became the owners of our first big family suv!
It was a sad day, but also a very exciting day! My husband said goodbye to his 12 year old GT Mustang (his first and only car) and we upgraded to our first suv big enough for our growing family. We knew sooner or later we would be getting rid of the stang and have to move on in our family/parenting lifestyle to a car that better suited our lives. We happened to find an awesome suv with the third row that we needed and it all just fell into place. So pumped for this one 🙂
6. My husband and I started seeing a counselor!
It truly has been life changing so far and opened our lives up in ways we hadn’t thought to see ourselves and how our pasts play such a huge role in our futures, in good ways and bad. This was something that I had wanted to do for a long time, way before my husband and I even met. Once you become married your life and everything you thought about it changes because two are really becoming one. It’s a beautiful thing, but it can also be a scary thing. Learning to be your best self, manifest a positive life with your partner, create your own way of life for your family…it can be hard if we don’t look within and create a safe place, where we don’t feel afraid or bashful to share what’s on our minds or in our hearts. It’s been amazing for us both as a married couple but even more so as individuals. I encourage anyone to do the same, and get that guidance. Your best self can and will emerge.
7. This leads us to our biggest life changer that happened in 2020, we found out we are becoming a family of 5.
Baby number 3 will be making its way into our world this summer and we are feeling all the feels. We have kept it quiet and near to our hearts as this past year has had sooo many changes and at times really felt hopeless. This was something that we knew we wanted at some point, and we are really glad it has happened at a time when we needed it most. Can’t wait to share how this pregnancy has been, so stay tuned!
At the start of a new year it’s always cool to look back at the last year and all that has happened. A whole year can seem like such a long time but somehow it always manages to fly by. We had some tough, scary and emotional times in 2020, and I think times like that can always come in and out of our lives. Hopefully 2021 it will have just as many beautiful, fun, memorable times as these ones we were able to hold on to and share with you all.
